Mike Jennings | Assistant Coach
Amherst native Mike Jennings joined the Hornet staff in the spring of 2010 and has helped Lynchburg to four NCAA tournament appearances in that time. In 2019, Jennings and the rest of the Lynchburg softball staff earned Atlantic Region coaching staff of the year honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
A staple as the program's first base coach, Jennings brings a wealth of experience to the bench. He served as the assistant coach at Sweet Briar College for nine seasons after helping establish the Vixen program. Jennings also was involved helping coach a local traveling softball squad, the Scrappers, for the past decade-plus.
Jennings is a 1976 graduate of Amherst County High School, and assisted the Lancer baseball team from 1998 until the 2003 season. He is also employed at Greif Corporation, Riverville Mill in Gladstone, where he has been an industrial maintenance mechanic for three decades.
Michelle Lehan | Assistant Coach
Michelle Lehan joined the Lynchburg softball coaching staff in the summer of 2021 after wrapping up a successful four-year playing career with the Hornets.
Lehan played part of some of the most effective pitching staffs in the program's history, helping Lynchburg to NCAA tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019, including the 2019 Virginia Beach Regional title, and an Old Dominion Athletic Conference runner-up finish in 2021. She amassed a career record of 6-5 in the circle with 67 strikeouts. The Virginia Beach native earned an ODAC pitcher of the week award in March of 2021.
She graduated from Lynchburg in 2021 with a degree in criminology and is currently pursuing a master's in clinical mental health counseling at the University.
Audra Bianco | Assistant Coach
Audra Bianco is a seasoned sports professional with a background in coaching and athletic operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education, with a minor in Coaching along with a Master of Education in Special Education from Lynchburg.
Audra's coaching career began with Lynchburg College, where she served as an Assistant Softball Coach from 2011 to 2015 and again from 2016 to 2021. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in leading the team to multiple NCAA Regional Berths and a Regional Championship in 2019. Throughout her time, Bianco coached several All-ODAC honorees, NFCA All-Americans, and an NFCA DIII National Player of the Year.
During her first hiatus from Lynchburg, Audra expanded her coaching experience as an Assistant Coach at Darton State College. During her one-year stint with the Cavaliers, Bianco oversaw the outfielders, defense, and baserunning teams. In 2022-2023 Bianco served as the assistant coach for Alvernia University. In her role with the Golden Wolves, she coached five All-MAC athletes, including the 2023 MAC Player of the Year.
In addition to her coaching roles, Audra has excelled in athletic administration as the Adidas Coordinator at the University of Lynchburg. Since 2018, she has managed orders, promotions, and communications with account representatives, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues efficiently.
Destiny Martinez | Assistant Coach
Destiny Martinez joined the Lynchburg softball program as an assistant coach in July of 2021. In her first season, the Hornets captured the No. 1 seed in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament for the first time in a decade and finished with a 26-19 record.
Martinez came to Lynchburg from Longwood University, where she wrapped up a stellar five-year playing career for the Lancers. She earned All-Big South and All-State honors as the Longwood second baseman, tallying 124 hits, 98 runs scored, and 74 stolen bases in her career.
The Yorktown native completed a coaching internship with Bay River Rumble Fastpitch and assisted with Longwood’s softball camp series as a player-coach.
Martinez graduated from Longwood with honors in 2020 with a degree in sociology and is currently pursuing her master’s of business administration at Longwood as well.
